Birth Photography from hospital to home births

Home-Hospital-Birth center- $2300

(Seattle, Bellevue, and Surrounding Areas)

Birth sessions are booked as on call appointments and coverage lasts from active labor through one-two hours post delivery.

I am also a certified birth doula and I love being able to use this training and experience to frame the story of your child’s birth in a truly documentary way. These are incredibly special sessions meant to document one of the most important days in your lives, your baby’s arrival.

Packages are available that include a maternity session/birth/and newborn session at a reduced rate.

If you are booking a birth session, we’ll start with a phone call to connect and make sure that I am the right fit for such an intimate time. During our conversation, we will discuss your birth location, plans, and how you’d like your baby’s arrival to be photographed. This initial chat is an important step in ensuring your experience feels comfortable and is aligned with your vision.

*payment plans are available. Please contact directly if you are outside of the Seattle-Bellevue area

In home newborn session

$1050+tax

(Home based session for Seattle, Bellevue, and Surrounding Areas)

These sessions take place exclusively at home and are typically scheduled for about 10 days after birth. However, this is only a suggestion, so please don’t be discouraged from getting photos of your new baby after the 10 days have passed. There are still important details of your new little one to capture.

Sessions are 60-90 minutes long and you will receive a private online gallery to view and download your photographs. Newborn photography sessions are scheduled between 10am and noon as I find this ideal for new infant and light in your home.

Various premium print products can be selected and designed directly through your gallery for ease and ensuring a professional quality in your printed memories.

Digital downloads are included along with a print release. All family members are encouraged to be a part of this photo session, including siblings and the family dogs. I want to capture all of the excitement and love that surrounds this time for your family as a whole.

Fresh 48/Birthplace Photography sessions

$500+tax

(Petite Sessions in Your Baby’s Place of Birth around Seattle and Bellevue)

Fresh 48 Sessions take place in the birth place, from a Seattle area hospital to a local birth center. These quick sessions are meant to capture the details of the first 48 hours with your new baby. About 30 minutes is all I need to tell this story and are a great add on to an at home newborn session. As with all my sessions, you'll receieve an online gallery to download and share your photos.

Birth clients will have these details included in their sessions naturally, so no need to book separately.

Contact me to book. We will use your due date as a placeholder and you or someone from your support team can message me to let me know when it is a good time to arrive.

FAQs-Birth and Newborn

How long will it take to receive my gallery from a newborn session?

For newborn and birth sessions your gallery will be ready two weeks after your session date. Fresh 48 sessions will have their gallery ready one week after their session.

What should our family wear for newborn sessions?

What to wear is one of the most common questions I get for newborn sessionsβ€”and for good reason! Everyone wants to feel comfortable and look their best while welcoming a new baby. I’ve created helpful guides, Pinterest boards, and blog posts to inspire you as you plan. You can check out my what to wear blog post here. After booking, you’ll also receive a client welcome email with more details on what to wear and how to prepare for your session. Of course, I’m always here to answer any questions along the way.

How do I book a date for birth, fresh 48, or newborn when I don’t know exactly when my baby will arrive?

Babies always come when they are ready and that is most often not on their due date. Birth and newborn sessions are booked using your due date as just a placeholder. (For birth sessions we will be in touch often the couple of weeks leading up to your due date.) We will adjust the day of your session once your baby arrives.

A fresh 48 session will be booked in the same way. Please book your due date as a placeholder. For these sessions I ask that you or a member of your care team let me know when you have gone into labor so that I can plan to get there within 48 hours. Once your baby arrives you can just let me know and I will coordinate a time with you to arrive at the hospital, birth center, or your home following a home birth.

Do you offer print products or albums? How do I order?

Yes! These first moments with your new baby are so important to preserve in physical memories you can see on your wall and hold in your hands.

I have made it simple to order print products directly through your gallery. Once you receive your gallery, you will see a β€œshop” tab at the top. There you can scroll through and see your gallery images for your newborn, birth or Fresh 48 session displayed as examples for a wide variety of print products, albums, and enlargements.

Need help choosing for your home? I love helping families pick the right memories for their walls.

Which hospitals or birth centers do you cover in the seattle and bellevue area?

I have covered births at Swedish Hospital First Hill and the Birth center at Virginia Mason downtown Seattle. I have also covered Evergreen Hospital Kirkland. I am available to cover all hospitals and birth centers within the city of Seattle and Bellevue, but if you are curious if your birth place is covered contact me here.

I am nervous about having someone in the room during my baby’s birth. How will feel to have you there documenting?

It is completely normal to feel nervous about having someone present during such a personal experience. My priority is to honor your space and make you almost feel as if I am not there. As a birth photographer and a trained doula, I am experienced in being a calm, unobtrusive presence in the birth room. I have been told by past birth clients that they were surprised to find that I was able to capture every meaningful moment even when they barely noticed my attendance during the birth. My approach during a birth is a documentary one and the goal is to stay behind the scenes and capture your birth story with care and sensitivity.
