Can You Have a Birth Photographer Wherever You Deliver in the greater Seattle area? Yes—And Here’s Why You Should.

I have had the privilage of photographing the birth’s of babies all over the greater Seattle area. I have attended c-sections, hospital births, birth center births, home births, and surrogate births. Each unique story told through imagry. The good news is that no matter where you choose (or end up) having your baby, capturing one of the most important days of your life is possible.

Where you choose to deliver your baby comes with a long list of options and considerations. Is your pregnacy high risk? What is your desired birth experience? Do you feel it is important to be in a medical facility when you deliver or do you envision meeting your baby for the first time with a midwife at home?

One of the questions I hear most often is, “Can I really have a birth photographer if I’m delivering in a hospital?” Or, “What if I’m planning a home birth or using a birth center?”

The short answer: yes, absolutely.
No matter where you plan to welcome your baby—whether it’s in a hospital room, the warmth of your own home, or a cozy birth center—you can have your birth story documented with care, respect, and intention.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of photographing births all across the greater Seattle area. From quiet, early-morning home births to fast-paced hospital deliveries to serene moments in birth centers, I’ve witnessed and documented every kind of setting. What matters most isn’t where your birth takes place—it’s that it’s yours, and it’s worth remembering.

As a birth photographer, I’m trained not just to capture beautiful images, but to do so while blending in seamlessly with your birth team. I know how to navigate hospital protocols, work respectfully in intimate spaces, and honor whatever atmosphere you’ve envisioned for your baby’s arrival.

Many families who hire me tell me later that having their birth documented was the best decision they made—and something they didn’t fully appreciate until they looked back at the photos. The strength, the emotion, the quiet in-between moments… those images become heirlooms. Click here to see more from my birth and newborn portfilio.

If birth photography is something you’re even thinking about, I encourage you to reach out early. I take on a limited number of births each month so I can be fully present and on-call for each family—and my calendar often books out months in advance. This isn’t something you want to wait on. The first step is to reach out! Click here to get in touch.

You only have one chance to document your baby’s birth story. And no matter where it unfolds, it deserves to be remembered.

Let’s talk about your birth plans.
Whether you’re still exploring your options or ready to book, I’d love to hear from you. Contact me here and send me a quick message—let’s make sure your family story is beautifully, thoughtfully documented from the very beginning.
